0:06.3	avalanche sitting on a two game winning. I guess it's not a streak. I don't know what to call it.

0:19.2	Anyway, for the off day, I've had this conversation with a couple people a couple people have
0:23.7	talked about this with me and i wanted to expand on it a little bit more the nchel as a whole
0:29.2	over the last decade but particularly over the last three or four years has seen a significant
0:34.7	trend upwards in total goal scoring and downwards in effective goal
0:39.9	tending. And I wanted to dive into that topic, talk a little bit about why that has happened,
0:45.2	how it's happening, and if it's good, bad, or otherwise. So beyond the obvious,
0:53.5	looking at this season, the NHL average save percentage is at 904.
1:01.2	Compared to a decade ago, 1314, the NHL average save percentage was at 914.
1:07.6	God.
1:08.1	It's a pretty significant difference between those two.
1:12.8	And I do think there is some important context here. We've talked a lot about
1:17.0	Georgi of this season and no one's going to sit here and tell you that he's been good enough
1:20.6	across the course of the season. But as he continues to flirt right around 900, that is right
1:26.6	around a league average save percentage.
1:28.7	Now, that league average does include every single guy who has played one game and posted a
1:33.7	500 save percentage.
1:34.9	So those numbers are not adjusted for starters and things like that.
1:39.2	Skewed for some of the baddies.
