Pete Samson, Tim Priester, Tim Prister, Tim O'Malley, and we left Notre Dame Media Day, where we had the gem of not only a few players, but assisting coaches, which we haven't talked to since August Media Day.

And, man, is it a little bit more informative than talking to the same four guys all the time?

I was downright giddy leaving there the other day.

I mean, we really got a lot of stuff.

And as I mentioned in our instant analysis, afterward, we've got a whole bunch of, I think, really good stuff to share with folks in the next couple weeks leading up to the December 29th Cotton Bowl game.

Pete, what were some of your highlights from the other day?

I mean, there are a couple stories that I want to write for the Bull Week itself.

One, just sort of how the defensive line has gone from very good to great, because I think

it's a really important development, not only just the course of like how why Notre Dame is

where they are, but like when you sort of measure that against Clemson. You know, there's a really

good story there. I want to do a profile in E.M. Book. So, so I got into that. And then, like, probably everyone, if you're in Brian Kelly's press, are the questions that I asked him, we're all Chip Long based about why he's a good play caller. And that's, I don't really have a great answer for it yet. I'm still reporting the story. But, um, that, but that's something I want to write for the

Cotton Bowl as well, because I just think that he's had such a good year. And I asked,

you know, Clark Lee was insightful on that because I asked him just basically, you know,

he goes against him in practice every day. But he also has sort of the advantage points of watching things develop from the press box. And I didn't lead him in this direction, but he started talking about the Alizzei-Mac touchdown against Stanford. And he's, you know, at that point, the game was in hand. He could sort of watch the offense a little bit more. And he says, like, you see that play start. And as a defensive

guy, your guts sort of like churn a little bit because you know how bad that feels as you see

it happening. And then you're like, oh, I'm excited because I'm at Notre Dame. But it's just,

like, he said that Chip Long is very much one step ahead of you at all times.

And I think that's, you know, we spend a lot of time on sort of the big plays.

But like Tommy Reese and maybe Dexter Williams talked about this too, just about how he knows when to be patient.
