A little bit of news happening in Notre Dame.

Autry Denson, their name's running backs coach for the last four seasons, four or five.

Four seasons, I believe, is moving on as a head coach, Charleston Southern, FCS program. And of course, that means that Nordame needs a successor

to him. And we also had the news about Chip Long and a little dalliance with Alabama for the

second straight year. So we'll talk about that.

But let's, first of all, talk about Autry Denson and him landing the job at Charleston Southern.

I think it's a win for all parties.

It's probably the best way to describe that.

I think when there's coaching staff turnover, the immediate sort of reaction among fans is, oh, no, this is a step back for the

program. I think it gives Notre Dame a huge opportunity for a step forward. I think Autry

Denson was a very, very good position coach and did not deliver on the recruiting front at all,

and that you can't have have of all the positions on your

staff to have a recruiter that isn't delivering running back coach might be the worst one you

know you could get away with your offensive line coach not being a very good recruiter because like

I think harry he stands recruiting reputation is, we just see the input of guys that came.

But in terms of a guy who get out and sort of grind on the trail, I'm okay if your offensive line coach doesn't do that.

Jeff Quinn actually does.

But your running back coach, that has to be absolutely essential.
