episode from our biweekly podcast series in the feed, Irish Illustrated interviews. Today, we're sharing

my conversation with Missy Comboy, the senior deputy director of athletics and a 38-year veteran

of the Notre Dame Athletics Department staff.

She was a 1982 graduate of the university, serving as a captain for the women's basketball

team during her senior year. As a member of the athletic department, she's overseen

several projects across campus, including the Irish Athletic Center for the football team

and the campus crossroads project. Convoy is also the liaison for the Athletic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees

and the Faculty Athletics Board.

In the past, she has served on several ACC and NCAA committees, including a nine-year

term on the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions.

Our conversation also discusses Naurames Cheer Her Name Initiative, which aims to recognize

50 years of women's varsity athletics.

Ultimately, Comboy's resume could be several pages long because she's had a hand in pretty

much everything that has gone on in athletics at Nardame for nearly four decades.

On a personal note, in full disclosure,

she's also one of my wife's role models when it comes to women in leadership. Here's my interview

So I listened to another interview you did where you talked about how when you were around 10, you decided

you wanted to go to Notre Dame and play for the women's basketball team. And that was at a time

you were still a few years away before Nerdaim even admitted women. What was your relationship

or first memory of Nerdaim and what made that be kind of a goal and a dream you wanted before

...
