This is Irish Illustrated Insider.

It's Monday, January 4th, and we are going to recap Notre Dame's 3114 loss to Alabama in the playoffs and Rose Bowl in Dallas.

And guys, let me just ask for each of your quick analyses of the game Friday night.

I mean, it was disappointing in a handful of ways.

I thought that the ones that jumped out to me were,

I didn't feel like Notre Dame ever really went for it offensively.

And this was a game that they were going to have to get creative on fourth down

you know maybe there's a trick play in there to certainly be aggressive and I don't I don't feel

like that ever happened I felt like the way that they played offensively made it seem like the game was tied

at the start of the fourth quarter.

And the game had already been decided by that point.

It was too late to keep playing ball control offense like that.

So that was disappointing.

And then it was just, I think it was a reminder that today's recruiting is tomorrow's

game plan because you go back and look at the defensive backs that Notre Dame signed

in the recruiting class of 2017 and 2018.

Derek Allen, DJ Brown, Tariq Bracey, Noah Boykin.

And you're going to try to defend Alabama with that.

Like that, that was never, ever, ever going to work.

And that does not, to me, that has nothing to do with,
