Welcome to Irish Illustrated Insider, a special edition today, Wednesday, August 24th.

0:11.0

It's going to be myself and Kevin Sinclair talking Norning football recruiting.

0:16.5

And this is something that we want to launch today in the plan moving forward is that every Wednesday of a home week, a home football game, we will be joining Kevin Sinclair to talk about Nordame recruiting.

0:30.2

Kevin, welcome.

0:31.4

Let's start with a couple of or several of the Notre Dame receivers, a couple of receivers that are verbally committed to Notre Dame, Breland James, in the class of 2023, Rico Flores.

0:44.8

Man, Rico Flores sure looks like he's improved his speed.

0:49.0

Yeah, you know, so basically, Flores had his season opener on Friday.

0:53.8

I had a pretty long discussion with his

0:56.4

long-time trainer the previous Monday. He'd explained to me, you know, I'd ask, you know, what did

1:01.7

1:25.5

evidence of that. He just looks to step quicker out there.

1:30.1

And, you know, playing against a pretty good, a pretty good defense, you know, he had seven

1:35.2

catches where I believe it was over 150 yards and two touchdowns. He caught this pass along the

1:40.9

seam and just out sprinted the defensive backs to the end zone untouched.

1:46.0

A little later in the game, he, from their own 40, he ran a deep post route,

1:51.0

just outran the coverage, follows there, but a 51, 52-yard throw, caught that for a

1:57.3

touch set. So he's really stretching the field. And I think in our analysis of him

2:01.4

so far has been, he's really been more of a possession guy, right? Of course, in college,

2:06.6

defensive backs level up more speed, and we'll see how that goes. But I just feel like,
