Welcome back, everybody, to another edition of Irish Illustrated Insider.

I'm Tim Priester from Irish Illustrated, joined by John Bryce of Football Scoop.

J.B, we are just a few days away from the start of 2025 preseason practice at Notre Dame.

I think we're all looking forward to this.

I don't know that I've ever, you know, what's the phrase like we're way out in front of our skis?

I feel like I think I can't remember.

I can't remember Nordane fans being more excited about a season.

I was around in, you know, 89 the year after they won a national title, but there was no

internet, there was no social media, there was none of that.

And the excitement generated about Notre Dame is off the chart, man, off the chart.

It is.

And frankly, I think it's pretty warranted.

Obviously, there's the one glaring question mark of who will officially be the starter and how will that individual

comport himself after earning the starting knob. But there's plenty of reason for the optimism

and the enthusiasm. It's a new world with the 12-team playoff. We saw what Notre Dame did last

year in the first iteration of the 12-team playoff, the program has built up great depth.

Under Marcus Freeman, it's recruiting for the future at an unbelievable pace, which I know we're about to get into.

And so, yeah, players were due to report back by last night after having a few days off.

They wrap up the second session of summer with a lift tomorrow. I think team photo day is

pretty soon to follow not long after that. So final lift session today and tomorrow, team photo

day, and then get right into some OTAs on Wednesday and crank it up on the practice field

right after that.
