We're going to change up the format a little bit today with Camp a little more than a week away.

If you've been following some of our content on the site, we've been sort of doing the

staff roundtable poll type content with Kelly's best players, the most indispensable

guys on the roster.

We looked at the schedule over the weekend and what we're going to do this upcoming

Saturday is sort of a, you know,

a player development themed survey among our staff. So we're going to edit that down to Tim, Tim,

and myself and run through 12 questions here. That will be our podcast today. And first up on that

list is, what do you see is the bigger challenge for Notre Dame in 2015,

defending the triple option or defending up-tempo offenses? So we'll go with Tim Priester on that one.

I'm not confident with either one. I don't think anybody is. I don't know why you would be

confident with either one. But I think, I mean, all things being equal, I think when you play,

playing two opponents this year in Georgia Tech and Navy that run the triple option, I think there are answers.

There are definitive answers to stop the triple option.

I think stopping up temple is a little bit more difficult because once that ball gets rolling, I don't really know that the answers are as definitive and as clear as they are with a triple option. Yeah, I agree. I think everyone struggles against good uptempo offenses. I think almost every defense has some problems with it. I think you can mitigate it. Brian Kelly talked about that a little bit in the spring, just there's substitution patterns and everything. But I don't, that's not, you know, North Carolina uptempo offense just destroyed them. and that's not the best example of a dominant uptempo offense. It's a good one. It's an underrated one. Yeah. I don't think it looked that bad again. They were dragging so much at the end of that game, Notre Dame, because of it. Pete, the coaching staff, I think, is confident that this time around they're going to get the triple option down. I mean, this is pretty much what Bob Elliott's job has been since he took over his special assistant to the head coach is to research triple option approaches and how do you defend it?

And I feel like every time Navy comes around, Brian Kelly gets up there as press conferences as well, everyone gets yards against Navy gets yards against everybody.

And that's not

actually true but these like high power Oregon gets yards against everybody that's this true unless

you're Stanford and just beat the crap out of them um Notre Dame isn't designed to do that and
