I'm Tim Priester with Tim O'Malley from Irish Illustrated.

And we're joined by Pete Sampson of the athletic, Notre Dame.

After losing two games in a row to fall to three and three,

they defeat UNLV 44 to 21.

They finally get off to a fast start by scoring 23 points in the first quarter,

played even in the second half, and once again, give up some touchdowns that you don't think you should to UNLV.

But Tim, your thoughts on Notre Dame's 4421 victory over UNLV?

I think the biggest problem with it is with all the consternation over the victory

is that they dropped the earlier games.

Had they not dropped those earlier games, people would say, all right, survive in advance, bump

in the road, you're 601, let's go.

But not even right or wrong. Correctly, people are looking for improvement and when they don't 601, let's go. But I'm not even right or wrong.

because they really had a chance to, I mean, how many times do you want the ball in

plus territory against a team like UNLV to only score 30 points in the first half?
