This is Irish Illustrated Insider. It is March 12th. I'm Tim Priestler with Tim O'Melly,

and we are about to discuss topics that I never, obviously never imagined. COVID-19 in the state of

spring football, very much in jeopardy, not only for Notre Dame,

but everybody else.

We're seeing it in professional sports.

We're seeing it in the NCAA basketball tournament coming up in the conference tournaments.

Needless to say, we've seen some crazy things along the way, the vacating of victories.

The George O'Leary situation was a very strange, strange ordeal

that I lived through. And, of course, the Declan-Solven situation was tragic. But this is worldwide,

how it will impact Notre Dame football, football in general. That's changing literally every

hour of the day.

We were prepared for four years for the vacating situation, so that was just one of those things that finally happened.

Yeah, I don't think, I mean, getting ahead of ourselves, I don't think the NCAA tournament will be played.

I'm surprised they're continuing with the conference championships because of social distance.

Well, this is social distancing, I guess, if what they're continuing with the conference championships because of social distance. Well, this is social distancing.

I guess what they're doing.

But look, so there's charter flights and charter bus rides.

And you can change everything about the NCAA tournament to make it where the number one seed Duke stays home.

But so do all the other number one seeds.

And you may have to tweak things and let teams drive to smaller arenas.

I get that.
