Welcome back to Irish Illustrated Insider. This is Thursday, April 9th. I'm Tim O'Malley,

joined today by Pete Samson of the Athletic, Tim Priester of Irish Illustrated and John Bryce of USA

today. Guys, there was a four-period open session for the media yesterday. Pete and Tim were in attendance.

They also have the what is always the most illuminating, well-spoken, thoughtful responses when you have offensive linemen and defensive linemen in their coaches in interviews. They always do a great job, and to no surprise. Anthony Nat, Bryce Young, and the like are some of the best guys to talk to you. I wanted to start, though, quickly Pete and Tim. You guys are at practice. Not a lot going on in that that four thing in the four periods they like to show you stuff until the team gets there for period

five you did see a little bit of stuff on air Tim Preacher why don't we start with you what was

your favorite impression of you know I mean it's they're running like a two by two drill with

wide receivers and tight ends and yeah they're they're not throwing against D.Bs.

I thought all the quarterbacks, you know, through the bowl well,

no grub still with the velocity.

I thought it was a better day for Hebert than the last time we saw.

I didn't watch C.J. Carr a whole lot because he usually throws everything,

everything on target.

But.

Right, he fractured reports ahead of time.

You could just written that right there. I see that car was on target too. Good job. No doubt. But, you know, Phazon, Graham and Micah Gilbert looks like, you know, the first three, not surprising. And so guys are slotting there pretty well. But quarterbacks threw it well. Drew Mentock had defense. You know, I don't know. I definitely gleaned a lot more

from the interviews, and you're absolutely right, Tim O'Malley, that offensive and defensive

lineman. And then, you know, Charlie Partridge is new to us, and so he's got some philosophies,

which are interesting to hear, and gave a really good breakdown on a couple of the young guys, which I thought was interesting. I mean, pretty in depth. And then Joe Rudolph had some great things to say about Anthony Knapp that we'll get into a little bit. But so, you know, for me, and at least writing my Thursday thoughts, there were more observations from the interview room than there were from the practice field yesterday. Yeah, it wasn't a lot. I mean, Christian Gray at Nickel again, I think every day he lines up there that we're there. It's like, okay, just make a mental note of that. Ashton Craig saying he'll be back for the start of the season. I think something that stuck with me in a like, well, that's kind of weird, was Bryce Young, Jason,

O'Nean, Bubakar Triari, all independently talking about the new techniques that they're learning from Charlie Partridge.

And I think Triori went as far to say, like, kind of like, no disrespect to Coach Wash.

Like, I love Coach Wash.

Like, Coach Wash is a great guy.
