Welcome to another edition of Irish Illustrated Insider.

I'm Tim O'Malley, joined today by Tim Priester and Drew Mentock of Irish Illustrated and Pete Sampsey the Athletic.

We are 26 hours late with this podcast, and not coincidentally, my basement flooded 26 hours and 11 minutes ago.

So with that being said, professionals are handling it now.

And guys, the portal is

closed, kind of. And I think that would be the news, but the real news is there was no major

announcements for Notre Dame. They're not the only major team with that, but no major portal

announcements seems like it's coming for Notre Dame. It's, I mean, it really speaks highly of the program, speaks highly of Marcus Freeman and

the culture.

These are all things that we've talked about before.

Guys don't want to leave, you know, and I, there are some other factors involved with

some of those players, some that are maybe closer to, you know, getting their degree,

NIL, you know, et cetera, et cetera. But it's pretty amazing. I think it, you guys, of course,

chime in with other factors involved here, but I think it mainly speaks about the Notre Dame

football program and how it's one that players don't easily leave.

I agree with that.

I certainly felt like when the Spring Portal opened that it was going to be overly,

breathlessly covered because if you had money to spend to get somebody to move, you had already spent it.

And I think that's exactly what happened.

I mean, what was the big spring portal move nationally?
