We're joined by Pete Sampson of the Athletic.

Notre Dame signed 25 players yesterday.

We thought it was going to be 24 when we walked in the room,

and it was probably the best news that Nordame could have gotten at that point.

Madden Ferremo, listening to the nation's top 100.

O'Malley and I place him at the top of Nordame's class,

and Sinclair, Thomas, and Mentock have him right near the top to make it 25.

Nordame ranks number 12 in the country according to 24-7 sports.

And it certainly put a different slant on the class after walking into that room expecting 24

and not having the cherry on top like mad foramo yeah that's a

great point you brought up in its analysis it changed the vibe changed it changed i think maybe

the mood of the of marcus freeman at least he because he bullions about his class um i think coaches

are always going to while the oversell their number one ranked or number 15 ranked recruiting class, I know that back in the day, Mike Elston and Brian Kelly, when Elson was recruiting coordinator would talk about if they had a 12th ranked class, they don't, you know, they don't really care about rankings.

And if they had the fourth or fifth rank class, he'd say, well, we were ranked fifth.

And so, I mean, that's just the way it goes.

And coaches like their

class more than analysts because the coaches watch them and ask them to come to their school

to play for them. And nowadays, most of the time, they've weeded out who they feel were guys

they should not have brought in. When do you get those decommits throughout the year? Now,

it's not all of them. But of course, Marcus Freeman likesits throughout the year? Now, it's not all of them.
