I'm Tim O'Malley, joined today by Tim Priester and Eric Thomas of Irish Illustrated.

And Eric Thomas is back on the show for the second straight week because we expect more

recruiting news, actually in the wake of tight end, Ian Premer, four star, Great Bend, Kansas,

number three, tight end of the country.

Bit of a surprise there, Eric, so I want to start with you because we actually had a couple

of questions on this.

It did not seem like he was going to be in the class.

Is there any insight on how they were able to pull this tight end in?

Yeah, pretty big surprise when Kansas State Crystal Ball picks go in the night before and the morning of and kid ends up picking Notre Dame.

It's a little bit of a unique one. By all accounts, he was gone to Kansas State as of the morning of even as late as that point.

The Kansas State coaches had great conversations with him, but they recognized even within all of that sourcing up until that point that Notre Dame was remaining involved.

There was a consistent flow of information and communication going between the two parties.

And what I think the surprise comes from is even after his unofficial visit, for folks that recall when Ian visited Notre Dame kind of earlier in the spring, there was a sense that Notre Dame was kind of further ahead on his list, especially internally in South Bend than the public knew.

He's sort of a notoriously private person. The camp is very private. They don't let a lot of the thought process leak out to the public.

And a lot of the things that were being sourced were from secondary sources,

right? People who know them, people who know him, whatever it was. So I think Notre Dame was a

little bit higher up in the family's perception than the public market really was aware of for

quite some time. And what Notre Dame was able to do on the official visit was really kind of key

in on the idea that Primer didn't

need to stay local in order to maximize, you know, his ability. In order to stay in his comfort

zone, he, he maybe not necessarily was going to, you know, be the best version of himself at the
