Welcome back to Irish Illustrated Insider.

I'm Tim O'Malley, joined today by Drew Mentock of Irish Illustrated, John Bryce of USA Today.

And we have a little bit of football news outside of Notre Dame, but also some scheduling to talk about guys with media days going on.

The Notre Dame gets mentioned in all those media days, even though they're not in the conferences.

But good news for Irish fans, I think anybody, except if you'd like to tailgate for a very long time in Foxborough Stadium's

tailgate lots, Notre Dame will kick off against Navy on Halloween. At noon, that allows J.B. Andrew

to get home in time. Jump on maybe those private planes we've arranged for you and pass out candy.

Yeah, and again, declaring that kickoff

time early because they want to feature Notre Dame. They anticipate that being one of the better

games that that conference has control of. And so that's why they were able to announce it so early.

And you don't see Navy play too terribly many night games but you've got that

game in an NFL stadium and a noon slot on the kickoff and they will be featured very very

prominently that day it also makes it a little easier for anyone who wants to make the basketball

tip off in Rome just a few days later more of a possibility now that they can maybe

jump on a plane Saturday evening instead of waiting around for that.

Speaking of private planes to jump on a plane to Rome, you know, I did the little dare to dream

segment in Monday musings, considering Notre Dame schedule. And we know Miami's going to be

favored in every game, even at Clemson, but BYU could be favored in their five games, or should be favored in their five games prior to Notre Dame. Navy will be an underdog in one, most likely, at UTSA, but Navy could be undefeated when they play Notre Dame, and that would be a boon to Notre Dame schedule. It's always good to have a ranked Navy team there, so people will remember, hey, Navy was ranked 22 and Notre Dame beat them

was a little bit better than 4-2 Navy. Yeah, and I think that, who knows, I could see Navy being

favored in that game the way that those two programs performed last year and just sort of the

trajectory, the fact that Navy held on to Drew Kornick, the very, very good offensive coordinator,

who did turn down some FBS jobs during this past coaching carousel.
