Dame's blue gold game over the weekend and the NFL draft. I'm Tim Preister with Tim O'Malley

and Pete Sampson. The final score, Blue 17, Gold 3. In other words, defense defense win, offense, except for a couple of drives

led by Tyler Buntner, came up on the losing end. There was a lot to pick apart there, right?

Like that, you know, we spend so much time on the quarterbacks. And I think that was my focus

during the game and then, you know, rewatching it. That's quarterbacks. And I think that was my focus during the game.

And then, you know, rewatching it.

That's, for me at least, that's when I can watch more like the offensive line play.

I thought, you know, Jack Kaiser, Justin Walters were a couple guys on defense that really stood out to me.

But I made overall that Brian Kelly sort of set the best afterwards. Like,

it's a good team that they need to figure out how to make a great team. Tim, I think you and I

sort of wrote the same thing afterwards. Getting great might not happen. But I think you keep

the pressure on to be great to, at a minimum, get yourself from good to very good,

which I think is sort of what this team can be. That's why I asked him post-game about the

offensive line, because the difference between good and great at Notre Dame is very often the

offensive line. And he was not defensive, but he was immediate in his answer. He was like,

well, Tim, and they wanted to explain to me why there are problems still.

And I get it.

I asked the question because I wanted it to be announced by the head coach.

Look, they split the offensive linemen, and they split the wide receivers.

So it is harder for the offense.

And when you split the defense, there's just a lot more good defensive players ready to play ball than the young offensive players. So the D was going to win the day. Jack Cohn, definitely more
