I'm Tim Preister with Tim O'Malley from Irish Illustrated.

We are joined, as usual, by Pete Sampson from the Athletic.

And, guys, we had an opportunity last week.

We are getting opportunities to talk to players and coaches like we,

we never did with Brian Kelly.

We had the opportunity to meet all the new assistants and actually spoke with,

with all 10, including the returnees and head coach Marcus Freeman.

Guys, just starting with you, Tim, if you could just maybe pop to a coach or two and talk about what

impressed you and what stuck out from those interviews. Yeah, I enjoyed. I really enjoyed talking

to Al Washington. I wrote about it today in Monday Musings. He's, I can't imagine that guy not being

in a room or being in a room and the family not enjoying him. He's genuine. He's also all football.

He could be all football, but he's genuine. I think he gets what Notre Dame needs in him right

away. Not a lot of guys will have that. It's fun. I think he's ready to settle in a little bit

because bouncing around is a linebacker coach at three different spots. I think he's back

where he wants to be a defensive line coach.

And he also was able to dish out and take some good nature of ribbing about Boston

college, pointing out that they never lost Notre Dame.

Different era of those things.

So Al was, I think, my favorite, or Coach Watcher is one of my favorites to talk to.
