I'm Tim Priester from Irish Illustrated, joined by the athletics Pete Samson.

The big news from this past week was a verbal commitment from four-star athlete Briante Johnson.

He commits to Notre Dame, big catch for them, could play on either side of the ball,

but Norton clearly has pegged him as a free safety prospect.

And I want to say this.

I think he made the decision football over basketball. That's what he

wants to do. He feels like that's where his greatest upside is. But if you want to get a really good

look at Bronte Johnson, Tay Johnson, watch him on the basketball court because I think he's,

I think his athleticism really shows there and makes him a really special athlete that that that kid that will carry over to the football field on the collegial level.

He stood out two years ago or two summers ago at Irish invasion.

I felt and also he was in terms of when people want to know about

real speed, he was one of the last three in the final sprint that the whole camp did. And it's

relevant. It was pointed out by another writer at the time who made a good point. Part of the reason

that quarter, the famous backup quarterback, no one heard of one, was he was not running sprints all day

long, like the defensive backs and wide receivers were.

So Bronte Johnson was it.

Bronte Johnson, we're going to get it right, right?

Bronte Johnson, a month and a half ago when all of a sudden, Tom Loy said,

Briante Johnson is very much in play for Notre Dame.
