U.S. and Israel attacks on the nuclear facilities in Iran, there's been a specter inside this

country and other places of potential what is known as sleeper cells. And this is a scary thing to

most countries. How dangerous are Iranian sleeper cells in the U.S.? What is the real story?

The term sleeper cell is terrifying. It conjures images of neighbors secretly waiting

for a signal to unleash chaos. When you hear about this threat, one country's name comes

up more than any other, Iran. We're told they hear, a silent army in waiting, but how much

of this is real and how much is political fearmongering?

Today we're cutting through that noise to separate the chilling facts from the political spin.

The anatomy of this threat, Iran's asymmetric warfare. First, you have to understand Iran's

strategy. It can't compete with the U.S. military head-on, so it relies on asymmetric warfare using

intelligence, cyber attacks, and proxies. Groups like Hezbollah act as an extension of Iran's foreign policy, trained and funded

by the IRGC.

And it's through these proxies that the sleeper cell threat becomes real.

In 2017, two men linked to Hezbollah notorious unit 910 were arrested in the U.S. for scouting attack

targets in New York City. The case proved the machinery for an attack on U.S. soil was real

and operational. Plots, assassinations, and cyber warfare. It's not just proxies.

US officials have also stopped direct plots from Iran's own intelligence services.

The Justice Department has exposed Iranian plans to kill or kidnap high-profile Americans,

including former National Security Advisor, John Bolton, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

They even foiled the plot to snatch journalist Massi Alinijad from a home in Brooklyn.

Beyond physical threats, hackers linked to Iran are constantly trying to breach critical U.S. infrastructure like power grids and water treatment plants.
