Hey there from CNN, I'm David Rind with the five things you need to know for Wednesday, March 25th.

Around 1,000 US paratroopers are on standby to deploy to the Middle East in the coming days,

while President Donald Trump says the talks to end the war with Iran are going well.

All this is really fluid, but what we do know is the troops are part of the Army's

82nd Airborne Division, and it's according to two sources familiar with the matter.

That's in addition to the thousands of U.S. forces already headed to the region.

President Trump expressed optimism yesterday that a deal to end the war is in sight.

We're in negotiations right now. They're doing it along with Marco, J.D.

We have a number of people doing it, and the other side I can tell you they'd like to make

a deal.

And in fact, two senior administration officials tell CNN that Trump administration officials

are working to arrange a meeting in Pakistan this weekend to discuss an off-ramp to the war.

Again, the officials caution the planning is fluid and the location, or who attends, could

change. But Tehran is yet to confirm any talks are happening and is taunting the Trump

administration's efforts to strike a deal to end the war. An Iranian military official

question if Washington is negotiating with itself. We've got to take a quick break, but stick around.
