it's 14 days into January and it feels like three years. We have to be in 2028 already, right?

For the zillionth time on this podcast, we're going to lead on foreign affairs today. The protests in Iran are getting bigger and bigger. The reports coming out of the country are awful about the

scale of the oppression. We are hearing thousands of people are believed to have been killed,

though it's hard to get a handle on exactly what's happening. And Donald Trump is getting serious,

or at least he's talking serious. You all listening to this will have seen,

I'm sure, his truth socially yesterday, urging Iranians to keep protesting and telling them that

help is on its way. He was at a car factory in Detroit. He urged Americans to leave the country,

and indeed the State Department issued guidance to that effect later. And he was on CBS last night promising strong action saying it's not going to work out for the regime.

Megan, these are all the things you do before you do something absolutely major.
