Iran reportedly fired missiles towards Israel, in addition to slower moving drones, which could

take hours to reach the border.

As Israel's air defense system intercepted the incoming barrage, explosions were heard in Jerusalem.

America's forces reportedly shot down drones too.

Both Israel and Iran said they had closed their airspace.

Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon followed suit.

Iran's mission to the UN confirmed that the attack was retaliation for an Israeli strike

on Iran's consulate in Damascus earlier this month and said that the, quote,

matter can be deemed concluded.

President Joe Biden who returned to the White House from his home in Delaware to meet his national security team

said that America's support for Israel was

quote ironclad. Rishi Sunak Britain's prime minister condemned Iran's attack

as quote reckless. Stephen Sejejeune, France's foreign minister, similarly denounced the quote unprecedented

action for quote risking a military escalation.
