Hello and welcome to the price of football, the show that looks at the money, behind the

beautiful game with me Kevin Day and Liverpool University's Kiran Maguire.

Kiran normally we have a little lighthearted chat here that reflects the football results

on Saturday but ain't happening. You can call me immature and solky as much as you want

this not happening. We've got a lot of questions today Kiran.

We're having to, yes. Yes, but we've also got some news. So before we get into the questions,

let's talk about these news stories. One of which is very, very, very important, probably

the most important story we've had on this pod for quite some time. But first of all, Kiran

and I believe, I believe you know some of these people but US investors have completed

their takeover of IBSWitch Town. Yes, this was a story which has been doing the rounds

now for just over a month. And IBSWitch Town have new owners in the form of game changer

20 limited but as always it's important to dig a little bit deeper. It turns out that

90% of that company is owned by an investment organisation which is ultimately funded by

the Arizona State Pension Fund, whom I'm not sure have got close connections to IBSWitch.

5% of the club is going to be maintained by the existing or the previous owner Maurice

Evans who as part of the deal has written off an awful lot of money that was owed to him.

I think the relationship between Maurice Evans and IBSWitch Town fans was fairly toxic.

They felt he didn't do enough for the club. I think he felt that putting a hundred million

pounds in was quite a lot. So he didn't manage it very well in terms of engagement. And

I do think this is an important thing for anybody that's involved with the club. We've

spoken to a few club owners now and those that reach out to the fans and say, this is
