Welcome to 9 to 5 Mac Daily for Monday, December 29th, 2025.

0:07.3

I'm your host, Chance Miller.

0:09.4

We are sponsored this week by Robo Rock.

Leading off today, if you've noticed an odd screen flickering issue since installing MacOS Tahoe, you're not alone.

0:19.3

A growing number of users are reporting a brief but distracting display flickering issue,

0:25.9

particularly when using Apple's studio display.

0:29.5

The flickering happens most often when switching between apps that feature white backgrounds

0:33.8

or scrolling through web pages on light backgrounds.

0:37.5

Any app can cause the flickering, and sometimes it even seems to be random, according to affected users.

1:16.2

In fact, some say that MacOS 26.2 might have made things worse.

1:21.2

Apple, for itself, hasn't acknowledged the problem at all.

1:24.8

One detail that's unclear at this point is whether the problem is exclusive to the studio display or if it affects other displays as well. But again, Apple hasn't said anything, and given that the problem isn't fixed in 26.1 or 26.2, it's possible even Apple is still trying to determine the cause of this problem.

1:44.4

Next up today, Business Insider reports that a law firm representing Apple has cautioned some

1:50.6

Apple employees who hold a visa against international travel.

1:55.7

The law firm cites extended and unpredictable delays when returning to the United States.

2:01.3

The report explains that Apple is among a list of tech companies that also includes Microsoft

2:06.2

and Google advising some employees to avoid international travel.
