research that Apple was the world's number one smartphone vendor last year

the first time it has ever topped the planet for a whole year.

Now I.C. says same goes for China.

The market tracker issued a press release last week saying for calendar year 23

Apple became the leading smartphone company in China for the first time

with record high market share of 17.3%. This as the Chinese smartphone market as a whole fell 5%.

That said, there wasn't breaking the clouds at years end.

While total recovery is far from guaranteed,

the release says China smartphone market

did grow 1.2% in the fourth quarter

versus the same quarter a year earlier that marked the end of 10

consecutive quarters of year over year decline. On apples rise specifically
