Earlier this week, Apple CEO Tim Cook let the world know

that orders for the company's super-thin iPhone would begin in China today, Friday, the 17th of October.

That is when South China Morning Post ran a piece saying that the first round of iPhone Air

had sold out in China. According to the report, pre-sales for the iPhone, which supports only

on Friday, more than a month later than most of the world.
