Leading off today, yesterday, we talked about Elon Musk threatening legal action against Apple over what he said was unequivocal antitrust violation on the App Store,

accusing the company of unfairly favoring chat GPT and never featuring or promoting XAI's app GROC.

In a statement to Bloomberg last night, Apple responded to these allegations and said, quote,

The App Store is designed to be fair and free of bias.

We feature thousands of apps through charts, algorithmic recommendations,

and curated lists selected by experts using objective criteria.

Our goal is to offer safe discovery for users and valuable opportunities for developers

collaborating with many to increase app visibility in rapidly evolving categories."

As of Wednesday morning, Elon Musk has not responded to Apple's comment, and it's unclear

whether he plans to actually continue and follow through with his threat

of legal action against Apple.

But again, as we pointed out yesterday, apps other than chat GPT, including perplexity and

deep seek, have both reached the top of the App Store charts, which seems to negate Musk's

claim that Apple only favors and promotes chat GPT, so it doesn't seem like he'd have

much of a leg to stand on if he proceeded with this legal battle.
