So, Mayo, what do you make of Apple's decision to open up the iPhone 17 keynote on Tuesday with a quote from Steve Jobs?

Design is not what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.

I saw this and didn't think much of it. Then I opened the internet and saw that people were kind of mad about it.

I was pretty taken aback. Like, it didn't. It was like, oh, cool. Like, yeah, Steve Jobs said that where I'm, I was sitting in Steve Jobs theater. I said, yeah, that makes sense. Good callback and just moved on with my day. Yeah, but they don't do a Steve Jobs quite every year. Like, yeah. I feel like they are normally pretty selective about when they roll out a Jobsian thing, like one more thing, right?

Or celebrating him, like when they did the iPhone 10, they started with, you know, a celebration of

jobs with a picture of him. And obviously that was the first time in the Steve Jobs theater.

So it was very appropriate. And then when they did the iPhone 10, they did one more thing.

I was quite surprised they evoked jobs for this thing.

With a quote that...

I guess what they're trying to...

Like, this kind of front runs the event where I feel like the quote is almost like a...

Yeah, we know these 17 pro is a bit uglier, but it's also more performant.

Like... I don't know if I'm being too cynical now, but it was kind of almost like too

defensive, whereas like, yeah, we know these things we're about to announce at making different

tradeoffs than maybe some of our previous models have done so, but Job said this, so it's okay.

I think that's a more favorable interpretation that it was referring to the 17 Pro.

I think the widely, the way people have widely interpreted it is a defense of liquid glass, kind of, more than anything.

I don't know. It was weird.

I wasn't expect them to evoke jobs for this set of announcements.

It was a bit odd.

I mean, they start, the very, very start of the event was that video where it was like just showing you different Apple products with kind of vaguely similar geometry, you know, one after the other. I really like that video. That was fun. And that was kind of celebrating the design of the company, right, without like, they could have just done that without trotting out the quote, I think. They went from the video, which started the first frame was a home pod mini. So I think some people got their hopes up, which obviously didn't come to pass. But then you could quite tell. It was like, okay, here's a home pod mini. We're going to swap over to like the iPod click wheel. And then here's a phone. and here's an iPad, here's the air tag, and here's some liquid gas software stuff,
