I'm Matthew E. Glacius, joined today by ProPublica's Darryl Lind and also Andrew Procop, who

is sitting in for a, uh, under the weather Jane Kostin.

We were going to talk about the results of the Iowa caucuses last night.

Uh, it seemed like a big, obvious news event.

Yeah, some of us, I, I actually as a, uh, now former political journalist who was not

obligated to cover the caucuses in real time.

I had this brilliant strategy.

I went to bed at 10.30 last night.

It was like instead of sitting in this vacuum where no one really knows what's going

on.

I'm going to wake up early on Tuesday.

I'm going to read the best analyses of who won.

And I'm going to be bright.

I had in Bushytale in the podcast studio.

Instead what happened is I woke up in the middle of the night, figured, oh, I might as

well just check who won before going back to sleep and instead found myself up for, you

know, a substantial amount of time trying to figure out what the hell had in fact just happened.

Uh, and coming to no better conclusions than anybody else had because as of 3.30 in the

morning, everyone had just gone to bed having given up.

And then I woke up this morning.

I figured, well, I'll, I'll just figure it out in the morning.
