Leading off today, an interesting code leak from Apple has provided new insight into its range

of upcoming product updates, particularly in regards to what chip and

what performance we can expect from these devices.

The story from Mac Rumors details that the upcoming Apple Vision Pro might have a better chip

than expected.

Bloomberg's Mark Garman had said the new Vision Pro coming later this year would have an M4

chip. This report,

however, based on a code leak from Apple, says that Apple Vision Pro 2 will have an M5 chip. Realistically,

this likely won't have much of an impact on day-to-day performance for Apple Vision

Pro users, but using an M5 instead of an M4 does future-proof the $3,500 headset a bit more.

Meanwhile, the story says that a new Apple TV 4K is coming soon, and we can expect an A17

Pro chip inside. This is the same processor that powers the iPhone 15 Pro, and it's a notable

upgrade from the A15 chip currently in

the Apple TV. We can expect a nice boost in CPU and GPU performance, approximately 15 to 30

percent increases based on benchmarks. The question for the Apple TV 4K is whether this

upgraded A17 Pro chip will support Apple Intelligence.

The A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro was the first A-series chip to support Apple Intelligence,

but the question is what features Apple has planned for the Apple TV in particular?

A lot of the Apple intelligence features don't make sense on Apple TV, things like writing tools and image playgrounds and Gen Moji, for example.
