Summary
In this episode, your hosts sit down with the extraordinary Lex, a traveling nurse, fierce advocate for trans and LGBTQ+ youth, and a dedicated summer camp counsellor at Camp Brave Trails. To start, the three discuss Lex’s growing presence on TikTok, their unexpected rise to social fame, and the weight of responsibility that accompanies having such a large platform. Lex shares their experience working in the landscape photography community and the downfall they faced when suggesting members with sizeable audiences use their platforms to address crucial human rights issues. Lex shares their experience and passion for working with LGBTQ+ youth and how working at Camp Brave Trails reignited her love and passion for being a nurse after the pandemic. The three then discuss the amendments made to the Nurse Practice Act in California, and Lex shares their interest in returning to school to become a FNP. Lastly, Danielle and Jac ask all the questions about Lex’s experience being invited to the White House and the pride Lex felt as our current president championed the rights of trans youth.
