Good afternoon fellow investors and welcome back to Invest Talk. This is our Thursday June 6, 2024, edition.

I'm Justin Klein, and my objective here

is the same as it is every day, which

is to help you become a better investor.

And normally we get right to the calls, but I wanted to highlight today being the 80th anniversary of one of the most important events in modern human history.

And that is D-Day.

And it was this date back in 1944 that the Allied forces began their invasion of France to push Germany back and push out their

war machine and ultimately win the war.

Now the Allies were led by the so-called Big Three, the UK, Soviet Union, and the United States,

which were principal contributors of the manpower. The massive military invasion known today as the Normandy landings

nicknamed D-Day and it was targeted on the beaches in France and today in 1944 seems like a long time ago.

But in reality, many people in the Invest Talk audience

probably had a father, grandfather that were fighting during that time.

And I know I had a great-grandfather that was in World War II. Well not great

grandfather, a great uncle that was in World War II. And he died. He was

a fighter pilot. So this hit home to me and the invasion forces at that time

included 7,000 ships. Think about that and landing crafts. More than 2 million

Allied soldiers, sailors, pilots, medics, etc.
