And since this was tax day, we are starting tonight with money, power, and politics.

Earlier, a Fox reporter asked President Trump if revenue from tariffs could actually replace the income tax system.

There is a chance that the money from tariffs could be so great that it would replace.

You know, in the old days, about 1870 to 1913, the tariffs were the only form of money. And that's when our nation was relatively

the richest. We were the richest. And there's a chance I could be playmate of the year,

but that's not happening either. For now, our country does still rely heavily on the income tax

system. And under the Trump administration, the agency

that collects those taxes could lose at least a third of its staff this year. The New York Times

reports 22,000 IRS employees have signed up for the newest resignation offer that is on top of

the 5,000 who already resigned and 7,000 probationary employees who the administration is trying

to boot. Those are the people that collect the money that pay for services that millions of

Americans rely on. Beyond that, Trump is pushing for tax cuts that would balloon the deficit and

working to deport immigrants, the same immigrants who pay billions of dollars
