Anne-Marie Berkel is a co-founder, venture partner and director at One Ventures, with over 700 million in funds under management.

Anne-Marie's interest in the innovation sector was forged during 15 years in leadership roles in agribusiness companies,

developing and commercialising new cultivars in ornamental, aquatic, food and forestry plants. Prior to co-founding OneVengers

in 2010, she was the CEO of ILab Incubator, having previously spent five years in the senior

management team at Uniquest. Anne-Marie is an industry fellow with the University

of Queensland's Business School, chair of the Investment Committee for the UQ-led Trailblazer,

Food and Beverage Accelerator, and a director of Interfinancial Corporate Finance and the

PPPK Group listed on the ASX. One of the trailblazers of the Australian Venture Capital landscape,

Anne-Marie is a great friend and mentor to tribe, and it's our pleasure to chat with Anne-Marie today.

Welcome Anne-Marie. I'm absolutely stoked to have you on the podcast today and joining us. I've known

you for a fair while and this conversation in particular has been one. I've been really looking

Anne-Marie, for those that don't know you, you're obviously a key part of one ventures and there's a big

story there that I'd love to get to. You've got a lot of experience in VC, but I'm actually keen to

go back to the Genesis story, much like we do with founders. Like, how did you end up where you are today?

And I know some parts of your career and the multitude of hats that you've

worn, but going back even earlier, how did young Anne-Marie kick off in the world and end up

where you are today? Well, I'm not going to go back to birth, but if I go back to my childhood,

I was the daughter of a country cop and mum and dad moved towns through

Outback South Australia every three years and that taught me a lot about resilience, a lot about

meeting new people, losing old friends, forming new friendship groups, a lot about going to school
