Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff real crime stories. I'm your host,

retired NYPD, Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD. It's 10 days since Suddikshar Kananke went missing.

And the big question now, of course, is this a drowning or is there some sort of foul play in regards to this investigation? This man you see in this

thumbnail on the screen, Joshua Reby, he is still being held in the Dominican Republic. In fact,

as recently as this morning, he was seen on the beach

with his attorney, police, and investigators, perhaps showing the exact location where, to his story he and sigdisko were in the ocean

when they got swept away and then according to his story he was able to save her to bring her

to what he described as knee highhigh or waist-high water.

And then he began to vomit, and he passed out, and that was the last he saw her.

And he doesn't know from that point what occurred.

Now, he's been held. They're holding him. He's not free to go. So no matter what they say,

they don't like to use the word person of interest, but witnesses are usually free to go.

Apparently, they've taken his passport, and he's not free to go. Apparently they've taken his passport,

So I'm questioning is he, in fact,

how the police in his hometown,

excuse me, in Sardiska's hometown in Pittsburgh, how they described him as a person

of interest. Or is he really, according to the Dominican Republic police, just a witness?

Interesting. Very interesting.

So we'll see.
