Kentucky Attorney General Russel Coleman joins Chris Hansen on this episode of Have a Seat to discuss his recent lawsuit against the gaming platform Roblox. AG Coleman joins his colleagues in such states as Florida, Louisiana and Tennessee in the fight to make Roblox safe against on-line child predators. AG Coleman calls Roblox a playground for criminals to have access to kids and that could lead to grooming and child exploitation. He also provides valuable advice for parents when there’s zero margin or error when it comes to allowing your children on the gaming site.     Photo/Video Credits: @RealSchlep Attorney General Russell Coleman https://www.ag.ky.gov/ Learn more about your ad choices. As you know, we have been investigating Roblox at my streaming crime network True Blue. It's been going on for months now and we are very close to rolling out our investigative documentary. What we have found is shocking.

0:22.9

Adults, predators, using a platform that is designed for children as young as five years old to enjoy games.

0:31.2

But what we're finding is, quite frankly, something that's hard to believe, this sort of abuse.

0:37.5

Now, Roblox has said that it's rolling out different safety functions, age verification,

0:42.3

so it's more difficult for adults to reach out to children.

But in some ways, the damage has already been done and continues to be done on a daily basis.

And one of the things that I think is significant in this investigation is that at least a half dozen attorneys general across the country have filed suits against

1:01.4

Roblox because of the predatory behavior that takes place on the platform. And one of those

attorneys general is Russell Coleman from the fine state of Kentucky

who joins me now to have a seat and talk about his investigation into the predatory activity

Any opportunity to talk about this threat, any opportunity to let parents know, parents like me, unsuspecting parents that this cartoonish appealing, otherwise safe as purported to be, kids platform is a truly a playground for predators. Any opportunity

1:47.2

I'll jump on. So thank you for the opportunity. How did this come to your attention?

1:52.5

I mean, Roblox has been around for 15 years or more. We've interviewed victims of predatory

1:57.0

behavior going back 15 years. The game itself, when you look at it on the surface,

2:03.6

looks like something that kids would play with like Lego. You know, the characters are designed to be,

2:10.2

you know, kind of friendly little characters and it's a place where kids can go and interact with

2:15.2

other kids. But that's not what's happening here. How did this come to your attention?

2:20.1

Well, the platform on its face, and let me speak as a parent, the platform on its face looks

2:25.7

cartoonish, it looks benign, and in fact, as we were being briefed, a group of attorneys

2:32.3

general not too long ago before we filed suit,

2:36.5

another attorney general said, oh, Roblox, that's the safe one, really articulating how Roblox purports to be,
