Today, how alleged sexual misconduct at the CBI,

the voice of British business, has been exposed in a Guardian investigation.

A warning before we start, this episode does contain references to sexual violence.

In July 2019, through the intense heat of that summer's Brexit negotiations,

the confederation of British industry, the CBI, one of the most influential organizations

in Britain, set out to host a private party on a boat.

They're gathering together on a boat in the Thames.

I know the day it took place was pretty overcast to start with, but the sun starts breaking

through in the evening, everyone's sipping cheap Prosecco, and then as the hours go on,

the atmosphere changes a bit and people start drinking more heavily.

It got raucous on deck, loud music, even heavier drinking, with reports that some people were taking cocaine.

You add into this mix this warm summer party that alcohol the drugs,

an atmosphere where some senior male figures and some junior female staff come together and

those senior male figures take advantage of some of those female staff.

These nooks and crannies, particularly the bathrooms, very unfortunately take center stage,

and the night begins to unravel.

What happened that evening and beyond has been investigated by the Guardians and at Isaac.

She has revealed allegations of sexual assaults, of widespread misogyny,

and a toxic sexist culture at the heart of big business in Britain.
