And I'm Joe McCormick, and today's episode is going to be on a very important invention

in the history of human health and medicine, the condom.

Now, obvious statement on the subject matter of today's episode.

We're not going to be stigmatizing sex or birth control, but just wanted to give you

a heads up in case this came on in the car with the family or something, and you want to

avoid any awkwardness or whatever.

But hey, if you want to keep listening, that's up to you.

Yeah, as always, we're going to tackle the subject matter with decorum here.

But yeah, it seemed like a great invention to tackle on the show because it's one way

as we'll discuss where the history is interesting, and at times not what we necessarily believe

it to be in sort of like the pop culture level of just vague understanding of the historical

truths regarding things.

But then also, obviously, we thought, well, this would be kind of a potentially sexy

episode of invention.

To what extent in the episode of the invention podcast is sexy, I do think it is an important

note that condoms, despite their clinical history, still have a sexy reality.

And that's one of the key talking points on material about condoms provided by organizations

such as Planned Parenthood.

And we'll come back to that point in a bit.
