Good morning. Before I actually begin the formal introduction of our guest speaker,

privilege of introducing today's guest speaker. Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks has been

Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the British Commonwealth since September of 1991. He is the

sixth incumbent since 1845. Prior to becoming Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Sachs, has been principal of

Jews College London, the world's oldest rabbinical cemetery, seminary, very much alive, very much alive,

as well as Rabbi of the Golders Green and Marble Arts Synagogues in London.

He received his smicha from Jews College as well as from London's Yeshiva Eichai.

The chief rabbi was educated at Cambridge, where he obtained first-class honors in philosophy,

and he pursued his postgraduate studies at Oxford and King's College, London.

Each year, before Rosh Hashanah, the Chief Rabbi delivers a message to Great Britain on BBC television.

This honor of a yearly address to the nation is accorded only to the chief rabbi,

the Queen, and the Archbishop of Canterbury in that order.

The Chief Rabbi is a true scholar.

He's the author of some 17 books

and is a frequent contributor to the BBC

and the Times of London.
