I am your host, or co-host, Lamar Newmire, and I have with me Carrie Mulestein who you've seen before on this

channel. Hi. How are you doing Carrie? Good. Good. How are you? I'm doing well. We're we're

miles apart but we're close in this our technological way. We're close by. Yep.

So I'm today we are discussing the Book of Abraham.

We're going to be talking about the Old Testament this year.

And part of that Old Testament actually begins in the Pearl of Great Price, which

discusses the book of Moses and the book of Abraham.

So Kerry has some expertise in this area.

He spent a lot of time over in the Middle East and Jerusalem and areas surrounding there in Egypt, of course, and has quite a bit of knowledge about

this. So let me ask you, Carrie, if we're talking about the book of Abraham, can you tell me,

if I was, I'm sitting in our regular gospel doctrine class and I say, where does the book

of Abraham come from? Was it parchment that somebody found? Was it already in there? Was it,

did Joe Smith just receive the revelation? How does that, how does the book of Abraham come about?

It's a great question. And one that I wish we had a simple answer to. I mean,

there is a simple answer. The simple answer is it came from God. So that's the simple answer.

Okay. Yeah. A little more complex than that. And for like a just gospel doctrine class, I wish it were simple.

But as a researcher, I kind of love the complexity.

It's given me things to puzzle over and chase down, feeling like Sherlock Holmes sleuth kind of stuff for a couple of decades now.

So let's do just a little bit of...

Yeah, let me ask you a question for that.
