breeze right through.

Let's just do it tonight.

So we'll go ahead and segue into doing the introduction to the book of revelation and that'll be it for

tonight but that's going to take a little bit so strap it but so um so um where to start

i'll start with uh genre. So the book of Revelation, or the Apocalypse, which is the

Greek title, the Apocalypse of St. John. Apocalypse literally means to uncover something

or to reveal something, hence the translation revelation.

Apocalypse does not mean the end of the world.

Right?

So I know we're used to like zombie apocalypse or nuclear apocalypse, but that's a different, that's a derivative use that comes from

one interpretation of the book of Revelation that's kind of popular in the

United States that the book of Revelation is about the end of the world so this is a

good place to start the book of Revelation is not about the end of the world.

At least not most of it, a little bit at the end.

But most of it is not about the end of the world.

It is revealing something.

Something was revealed to St. John.

He has written it down and is making it known to us but apocalyptic literature or revelatory
