The story starts in September of 1992 when 14-year-old Misty Copsie goes to the Washington State Fair with her best friend.

But she never makes it home and no one ever sees her again.

Police called her runaway. Her mom, Diana, knew that wasn't right. Five months later,

searchers find a pair of jeans, socks, and underwear on the side of a highway. Diana recognized

them immediately, but the police still didn't

act. It's a case that shows how people can fall through the cracks when the systems that are

supposed to protect them don't. Who gets believed and who doesn't? And what happens when you

beg institutions to take you seriously and they shrug? More than 30 years later, Misty's case is still unsolved.

And in this eight-episode series, Cold Case Investigator Sarah Kalin digs into the tips,

the police records, and the people in Misty's life.
