I shudder to think sometimes what Tulsa could have been if the race massacre had never occurred.

In the early 1900s, a whole generation of freed slaves created a safe place for themselves in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

They built a successful black community where black Americans could actually

have agency over their own lives. Here they could own land and run businesses. It was a

new America, but it wouldn't last.

This is the time of the rise of the Ku Klux Klan. Lynchings are still going on across the country.

It didn't take long for America's racism to reach their doorsteps.

An angry white mob poured into their neighborhood one night.

Shots were fired, at which point all hell broke loose.

The racists showed no mercy.

That night that we could see them burning the Negroes part of town, it was just terrible.

And when you see the pictures before and after, you know it's like it's a war zone.

There's nothing left standing.

And it's believed they murdered hundreds of black Americans.

For a century now, people have buried the story of this massacre.

People both black and white have kept it a secret.

Some people were threatened with their very lives if they talked about it.

But then more than a dozen coffins were found in an unmarked grave near the very streets where those black Americans were killed so long ago.

And now the question is, are there more bodies hidden underneath Tulsa?

There is, I think, a critical mass of evidence that strongly suggest that there are mass graves

somewhere in Tulsa.
