At the very foundations of that worldview lurks a dark and peculiar pseudoscientific mythology. Hitler's "Chief Ideologist" Alfred Rosenberg called it "the Myth of the Blood" and presented it in a book called The Myth of the Twentieth Century, which he published in 1930. 0:41.8	Okay, so this is a bullet about the Nazi myth of the blood. The myth of the blood is actually
0:47.3	the core idea that the Nazi mythology or the Nazi ideology was organized around and in service of achieving.
0:56.4	The Holocaust is an outcome of the myth of the blood. For example, World War II, in fact,
1:01.7	is an outcome of the myth of the blood. Now, a lot of your average rank-and-file German Nazis
1:07.9	didn't particularly believe the myth of the blood, but the leadership did,
1:12.4	and the organizational principles were guided around this myth. The myth of the blood is
1:18.5	explained in a book from 1930 titled The Myth of the 20th century that was written by Alfred Rosenberg.
1:28.4	Alfred Rosenberg was Hitler's chief ideologist. So he was the chief ideologist of the Third Reich.
1:35.4	That was his actual job. That is, his job was to make up the Nazi ideology and help propagate it.
1:43.1	So it's very important to understand that. So he writes
1:45.1	this book called The Myth of the 20th Century, where he claims from the first line he's going
1:50.6	to rewrite all of history. And I say that this is kind of a commercial for something I'm doing
