And that was a phrase that came trippingly to our tongues from the earliest days of the Motley Fool.

I mean, yeah, philanthropy, ages old, get that, but fooly. Well that was something brand new. That could be something

amazing and in the early days of the internet it certainly was. So anyway, what were you doing last Friday?

It was April Fool's Day, by the way.

live on CNBC to another year getting lots of people trying to put in buy orders

for E-Marrang. Yep, the e-commerce company.

We were helping do an initial public offering.

E-Marrang, not the pie or the cross.

Nope, just the meringue portion of it,

shipped out to you within 24 hours anywhere in the US of. of it's business into an e-commerce juggernaut. We hyped up that IPO silly one day. One day that

happened to be April the 1st. No one lost any money on it though since the

entire thing was made up.

Well this year we broke with the conventional wisdom of being silly on April Fool's Day and so

last Friday instead we launched the Motley Fool Foundation.

Two years in the making, and there could be no better day

for its launch, our tagline,

Financial Freedom for All.
