Summary

Hi friends, I’m back! New episodes start dropping Tuesday!

Also, heads-up: I’ll be changing the name of this podcast from Strangers to STORIES by Lea Thau on Monday. That hurts a little, I know – for me too – but I promise it’s not the end of Strangers. The plan is for STORIES by Lea Thau to be an umbrella for all my work, including Strangers, and I want to do a new season of that show next year

But first we’ll kick off next week with episodes from my latest series, The Hopeful Locals

If you can’t wait for the public release and would like to binge the first eight episodes of The Hopeful Locals right now, you can do so on Patreon, where you’ll also find 70 episodes of Strangers that are only available there, and much more.

If you can’t afford to pay, you can also join my Patreon community for free and get access to some new and old episodes without ads – Episode 1 of The Hopeful Locals is already up there!

If you have questions or comments, or perhaps a story you’d like to share, you can email me at stories@leathau.com or message me on Patreon, Facebook,  Instagram, or Substack. My name on all those platforms is now STORIES by Lea Thau.

I look forward to spending a lot more time with you again, so please….don’t be strangers!

The entire back catalogue of Strangers can be found at STORIES by Lea Thau on Patreon and Substack, where you can also find my new work in its entirety, all of it ad-free. You can join as a free or paid member, so come be part of my community! Or follow my new work in my new public feed, STORIES by Lea Thau, which you can find wherever you get your podcasts.

Hi, Strangeros and Long Lost Friends.

0:07.0

It's Leah. It's been a while, but here I am. I'm back!

0:12.0

I've been developing three new series for my paying subscribers on Patreon that I want to start sharing with you,

0:18.0

and the first episode drops on Tuesday.

0:25.0

I also want to make a new season of Strangers next year,

0:30.6

and I'll sometimes be dropping old Strangerose episodes that are normally behind a paywall in this feed.

0:34.8

But first, I have some serious news to discuss with you.

0:39.7

I've decided to change the name of this podcast from Strangers to stories by Leah Tao. It hurts my heart a little, and maybe it hurts yours too, because we've

0:46.2

always been the strangers community, but I promise that strangers is getting absorbed and not

0:52.9

replaced here. The idea is that Stories by Leah Tao will be an umbrella for all my work and all my series,

1:01.0

new and old, and the episodes from strangers will still have the old Strangers logo,

1:06.0

so you can easily find them.

1:09.0

Are you on board with this?

1:14.6

Please speak now or forever hold your peace because it's happening on Monday.

1:20.5

We'll be kicking off with my latest series called The Hopeful Locals, which tells the story of a road trip I took last year and the people I met along the way.

1:25.1

Here's one of them.

1:26.8

When I finally made that decision, I was actually

1:29.8

climbing a mountain. And I was so out of shape. My calves were cramping up so bad. And the

1:37.2

craziest thing happened. The sun was out and it was hot because it was the middle of the summer

1:41.9

and 90 degrees. So I'm dying of heat stroke but then all of a sudden

1:46.1

it started to rain and then it started to snow

1:49.0

while the sun was shining
