Hi there, it's Elise Loonen. You may recognize my voice from the Goop Podcast.

Well, after a brief sabbatical to write a book about women in the patriarchy, specifically

what we police in ourselves and then in each other,

I'm back behind the microphone, and this time as the host of my own weekly interview show

called Pulling the Thread.

While I live in Los Angeles now with my husband and two young sons, I grew up in the woods of

Montana.

It's not an exaggeration to say that books and horses

were my closest friends and confidants. While I built an early communion with nature, my relationship

with culture has been that of a curious observer and outsider. I've always wanted to understand

how relationships, systems of power, and societies function.

And to that end, I've spent my life watching, reading, and asking a lot of questions,

all in an effort to make the world more parsable to myself, and in the latest phase of my career,

to the people who have listened in to the conversations I've hosted with

many cultural luminaries. Pulling the thread is about these big questions. Why we do what we do, how

we can understand our own experiences within a larger spiritual and historical context, the

ways in which we might begin to understand ourselves and each

other better, and what's required to heal ourselves and our world.

I'll be joined in conversation by big, big thinkers, those who have laid tracks in their

work and lives to help us bring meaning and understanding to a world that often feels

chaotic and overwhelming. My hope is that these conversations spark moments of resonance

and plant tiny seeds of awareness so that we might all collectively grow and evolve.
