The story started when I found a box of forgotten screenplays,

written by my late uncle, Galen Yuan. What was crazy was that Galen had buried all sorts of

secrets about his past and my family in these movie scripts. I discovered that he was the leader

of a Chinese gang that he went to jail for attempted extortion and in a final twist that one of his

screenplays was the true story of his life and it actually got made into a 1990s Hollywood action

movie starring Rob Lowe. It's called Magnificent Jerk and I'd love for you to check it out.

There are those movies that are so bad they're good and then there are those movies that are just

hard to watch bad. This story starts with one of those. You know my friend here Mr. Crazy6?

Crazy6? And you're crazy? A little bit. Crazy6 is a low budget action thriller from the 90s.

About an addict who's trapped in a world of crime. And it stars a bunch of actors that do not

sound like they belong together. There's Bert Reynolds as a cop. IceT plays a drug dealer

and the hero of the film is a strung out Rob Lowe in a fake mustache.

I want to stop smoking rock real bad. The thing is that character is supposed to be my uncle.

Crazy6. You see the script for Crazy6 was written by my uncle Galen Ewan and this super violent movie

is based on his actual life. At least that's what he wrote. The majority of incidents and characters

in this story are real. Their names have been changed to protect the guilty.

Let me just say I didn't know any of this. Here's a part of him that's really nice and then there's

another part that when you get on the wrong side of him he's like total nuts. It turns out my

uncle was in an infamous Chinese gang. He went to jail, got addicted to coke and started robbing
