I'm Jorge Andreas Olivares and I'm the host of a new show called Hyphenation,

where conversation and culture meet.

Each week, I'll bring together other hyphenated

Latinos to talk all about our personal life choices. Now, you might be wondering, what kind of

no sable word is hyphenation? Well, for me, it's about living within a hyphenation, like being

Mexican-American. I'm third-gen from the Texas border, now living that Bay Area Chicano life.

Everything I do is a byproduct of all of my identities coming together to navigate this

hella-complicated existence.

My feelings about money, music, even my masculinity.

Much of it comes from being bilingual and bicultural.

And this is true for many Latinos living in the U.S.

Our cultures and our communities inform our choices for better.
