and a Cuban woman breaking barriers for performance art. It could have been a love story,

but instead, it's a tragedy. On September 8, 1985, Anna fell from the 34th floor window of

Carl's New York apartment. Carl was charged with murder, and the art world was divided.

Some couldn't believe an artistic genius was capable of such violence, and some blamed him for

Anna's death. In Death of an Artist, curator Helen Molesworth revisits Anna's untimely death,

the trial that followed, and both the protests and silence that have followed the story ever since.
